Parents of a 10-month-old baby have appealed for a Sh1.5 million donation for the girl’s urgent heart surgery in India.

Mealii Ndundu’s parents said doctors have advised them the surgery must be done in two months for the baby to survive.

Ndundu was born with two holes in her heart and one in a blood vein, according to the medical report seen by the Star.

The condition has caused her breathing complications and stopped her growth.

She was born weighing 2.6kg and now she weighs 4kg, her mother N’kwambirwa Hamisi said on Saturday.

“Her growth is really worrying. In a month she can only gain about 50g. Sometimes she doesn’t add weight at all,” her father Juma Hassan said at their home in Kwale.

Donations can be sent through Safaricom pay bill 891300 and account number 5504, Airtel business name Mchanga and account number 5504 or Equitel business number 891300, account 5504.
