The Danish-Malian maestro is in the country with actress Connie Nielsen to raise awareness about Kiberan talent and the community’s access to clean drinking water and sanitation. He will headline the Kibera Talent Koncert on Saturday at the Kamukunji Grounds in Kibera.
Last Thursday, Diallo was live on stage at the Nairobi's Village Market Rooftop at a performance titled Moussa Diallo Live. He performed alongside contemporary rapper Juliani and the Sarabi Band.
“I am very pleased by all the wonderful talent I have seen here. I encourage them to never give up on their dreams,” he said.
The 60-year-old singer, composer and author grew up in Mali, but moved to Denmark as an 18-year-old, where he established himself as one of the most active bass players in the genres of pop, rock and funk.
