IEBC wants 100 seats declared vacant. What's your opinion?

THE Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has written to Attorney General Professor Githu Muigai to find out if they can declare vacant the seats of MPs who have switched parties. IEBC chairman Issack Hassan is upset by the "political immorality" of MPs who abandon the parties that sponsored them to Parliament or local authorities and join new ones without seeking a fresh mandate from the electorate

Two members of the Jehovah Witness denomination admitted to hospital because of severe anaemia have refused to undergo a blood transfusion saying it is against their faith's teachings.Susan Wakio Mwangi, 27, and 68-year-old Martha Wanjiku were taken to hospital after they fell ill. Doctors recommended that they have a blood transfusion but they refused.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has announced that the next General Election will be held in March 2013. Making the announcement at a press conference held at the Laico Regency, the IEBC chairman Isaack Hassan said that the commission was compelled to settle on the date following the failure of the two principals to agree on an election date as set out on a court ruling.
