A teacher has been killed and body wrapped in a blanket in Bumula constituency, Bungoma county.

The body of Fred Lunani, a headteacher at primary School was found in his house.

Lunani’s family expressed shock at the murder questioning the circumstances under which he was killed.

“We are very shocked, we knew him as a dedicated person and breadwinner for his family,” Lunani's brother Charles Mwangale said.

His wife, who was reportedly in the same house when the murder occurred, has been detained for questioning.

Mwangale said he found his brother's legs and hands tied with ropes.

Lunano’s family linked the death to a love triangle.

“We want justice to prevail and the people involved arrested because we have lost as a family,” Mwangale added.

Bumula MP Jack Wamboka condemned the murder urging investigative agencies to bring the perpetrators to book.

“Subsequently, I will convene a constituency security meeting to discuss insecurity in Bumula and the urgent need to protect lives and property,” he said.

Bungoma South Knut chairperson Augustine Watamba condemned the incident urging investigating agencies to move with speed and arrest the killers.

He spoke at the Bungoma County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
