Kenya Sevens will go for nothing short of a win at next month’s final Challenger Sevens leg in Munich, Germany, assistant coach Louis Kisia has said.

Kisia termed their Pool ‘C’ tricky as they face Chile, Portugal and Japan.

A win will put Shujaa in good stead ahead of the promotion/relegation playoff in Madrid in June.

“This is the final tournament and we seek to win it after finishing third in Uruguay last month,” said Kisia.

After an indifferent outing in Montevideo, Kisia expects Kenya to be at full strength following the return of speedster Patrick Odongo from injury.

“We also have the likes of Elvis Olukusi, Lamek Ambetsa, Chrisant Ojwang, who played well in Uruguay and at the African Games in Ghana,” said Kisia.

He expects a hard time from all the pool stage opponents.

“We have had some tough battles with Chile since the series began. They are a good team. Portugal play with flair and physicality. Japan play passionately and will never give up the fight,” said Kisia.

Kenya are joint top with Uruguay on 36 points with Chile third, four points adrift.

Germany and Hong Kong are joint fourth with 26 points.

Uruguay face Germany, Georgia and Papua New Guinea in Pool ‘A’ while ‘B’ has Hong Kong China, Uganda, Tonga and Mexico.
