Bandari FC head coach John Baraza is confident of claiming the scalp of rivals Bidco in their next Kenyan Premier League crunch tie at Mombasa Sports grounds on Saturday.

The vicious hunt for this season's top-flight silverware resumes at the weekend with eight matches scheduled in Round 26.

In an exclusive interview on Thursday, Baraza exuded confidence ahead of Saturday's assignment, pointing out that he has sharpened the talons of his charges adequately for the upcoming task.

"We respect our opponents and we are expecting a tough opposition on Saturday. However, we are in good form and we are ready to get the job done and dusted. We can't afford to get comfortable at this stage of the season," Baraza remarked.

"We are determined to clinch our maiden KPL title and I believe we are close to accomplishing our dream considering we are currently third on the log. We only need to perform well in our remaining matches and everything else will fall right into place," he added.

The coastal lads are level on 43 points with second-placed Tusker who enjoy a healthier goal difference.

Elsewhere, leaders Gor Mahia will seek to consolidate their position at the summit of the log when they face bottom-placed Nzoia Sugar at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma on Saturday.

K'Ogalo enjoy a massive eight-point gap at the summit of the log over their closest rivals Tusker who face Talanta at Kenyatta stadium, Machakos on Sunday.

The record Kenyan champions blew up a glorious opportunity to widen the gap further, having settled for a barren draw against Kakamega Homeboyz in their last outing at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos a week ago.

In other matches set for the weekend, Nairobi City Stars host Murang'a Seal at the Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi as Sofapaka lock horns with Ulinzi Stars at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos on the same day.

Coastal lads Bandari will clash with Thika-based Bidco United at Mombasa Sports Ground as Kakamega Homeboyz battle Kariobangi Sharks at Mumias Sports Complex.

KCB have a date with Kenya Police at the Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi.

On Sunday, Posta Rangers will seek to turn around their fortunes when they face AFC Leopards at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

Muhoroni Youth FC will flex muscles with Shabana at Mamboleo Stadium, Kisumu in the only top-flight match set aside for Monday.
